Sydney Zepp
Apprentice Teacher
Sydney is currently a student at Kutztown University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in music education, with a focus in vocal/choral music. She hopes to dive deep into music and learn the best, most effective teaching methods in her time there.
She plays several instruments, including guitar, ukulele, piano, and voice. She dabbles in banjo and bass and has picked up several other instruments a time or two.
From an early age, Sydney knew she wanted to play music, and began playing violin at age 6. By the age of 11, she realized violin wasn’t the best fit for her, but didn’t give up on music entirely. She picked up guitar and piano, and learned the basics. Things really changed when she got a ukulele to accompany herself and started learning to sing. She then picked up guitar again and put in the practice to learn it, along with singing.
At age 14, Sydney started teaching friends and family how to play ukulele and guitar and found the success of others to be quite rewarding.
Sydney believes it is important to meet people where they are with sight reading and ear training. She also believes sight reading is a very important aspect of music, regardless of instrument.
