Ben Modica
Ben Modica, aka "Mr. Ben," is busily yet blissfully retired from a long-time career in county government. Early retirement has enabled him to devote him self primarily to the work of music.
Ben earned a Master of Music degree from West Chester University and continues to study piano and organ, which are both passions of his.
He has held organist positions at various churches and was previously an adjunct professor of music at Alvernia College (now University).
He has authored a text for introductory piano and a number of original compositions.
Ben has one primary word of advice to students and all musicians: "Don't take yourself so seriously! Pursue excellence, but embrace imperfection. How can you learn if you don't make mistakes?"
Ben enjoys a semi-quiet life with eight cats. He also enjoys studying Spanish and finding bargains in thrift stores and antique shops.
