Designed to provide an opportunity for students to have the real experience of playing in a band, using popular music that students love
Schedule: Meets weekly from Sept through early June. The studio is closed for major holidays.
Location: Offered at one or more of our studio locations in Boyertown, PA.
Grades: 7-12 (suggested)
Performance Opportunities: Students are invited to perform twice a year at our fall and spring concerts.
Instruments: keyboard, guitar (acoustic and electric), ukulele, bass guitar, drum set, percussion, and vocals
Specialization: Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of all instruments, but will specialize in one, so that parts can be learned with accuracy for performances. Owning your own instrument is highly encouraged, but not required.
Class size: 3-7

Students work together in ensemble to experience all of the aspects of forming a cohesive band.
What Do We Do In Rock Band?
Learn to play or sing parts on a variety of rock instruments— drawing from a fun mix of rock history favorites.
Discover the building blocks of music including melody, harmony, rhythm, form, and expression through lots of hands-on playing!
Listen closely to each other to see how each part fits into the whole, how rhythm keeps everyone together
Work together as a team to express ourselves musically
Learn the basics of chord theory through learning parts
Develop technical skills and follow best practices for using microphones and electric instruments
Explore the history of rock music and artists
Play and/or sing the parts of up to three complete popular or rock songs on the instruments of their choice, and be able to perform them.
