About Middle School Voice Class

  • Perfect for students in Treble or Honor Choir looking for additional vocal instruction in a small-group setting

  • Schedule: Meets weekly from Sept through mid-to-late May. The studio is closed for major holidays.

  • Location: Offered at one or more of our studio locations in Boyertown, PA.

  • Grades: 5-8 (ages 10-14)

  • Class size: Maximum of 8 students in this class.

  • Performance Opportunities: This class may perform in different studio events, chosen by the director based on the repertoire and may include Collective Harmony Concerts and/or recitals.

  • Performance Attire: No special ensemble attire for this group - anything that is dressy and appropriate to the event!

  • Designed to be an affordable stepping stone between our larger choral ensembles and private voice lessons — ideal for students who want more individual attention without the full commitment of one-on-one lessons

  • This class allows students to progress at their own pace — working in groups to develop vocal skills through repertoire, and providing opportunities for solo singing for those who feel ready to take that step.

What Do We Do In Middle School Voice Class?

  • Model a healthy, freely produced tone

  • Learn and use the different registers of the voice

  • Demonstrate healthy and strong breath support

  • Train in classical technique: Sing with tall vowels and a proper mouth position in order to have the most beautiful, mature, healthy tone quality

  • Train in contemporary voice technique: Learn healthy ways to belt, to find your power and support your singing.

  • Develop all-around musicianship and music literacy

  • Continue to work on sight-reading music and solfège

  • Work together in ensemble and solos

  • Build confidence as a performer

  • Find your own voice and express yourself as a singer
